Week 2 - Mexico MTC - July 3, 2019
¡Hola familia y amigos!
This last week has flown by SO FAST! It literally feels like I just got here. The emails from here probably until I get into the mission field are going to be a lot shorter because each day is essentially the same with occasional variety. It's always 8 hours of sleep, 1 hour of gym, 3 hours of eating, and about 12 hours of class and studying! I have never been so productive in my life nor have I ever gotten so much sleep (although I'm still tired all the time, probably from exhaustion). Everyone here seems to be getting sick now and I am trying so hard to stay healthy. I've been told that it's the flu going around but I think the food has something to do with it too. Because of that my diet consists mainly of watermelon and pineapple.
My Spanish has definitely gotten 100% better than when I first got here. We've been teaching lessons to our teachers a lot these past few days and each time I feel more confident in my Spanish speaking ability. I got to talk to Hermana Reeves yesterday and she's leaving on Monday to go to her mission! How exciting! She told me though that everyone flies to Buenos Aires together and takes a bus to their mission from there. For me that means that I have about a 10-14 hour plane ride followed by a 20 HOUR BUS DRIVE!!! I literally might die before I get there! But I'm still really excited to go!
If you didn't know already, Mexico City has the MOST BIPOLAR WEATHER EVER! Literally every day it will be so pretty, bright and sunny outside and then within a minute it will be pouring rain! It's kinda bad to admit, but whenever I see people running in the rain I secretly hope that they slip and fall just cause it would be funny. I probably need to stop thinking that. The other day there was a thunder storm and I heard the loudest thunder strike (i think that's the right way to say it) that I have ever heard it my life. It sounded like lightning had hit our building. Another interesting thing that happened the other day was that it was pouring rain on one side of the building but less than 50 feet away on the other side it was sunny and not raining. Pretty weird to see.
Well, that's it for this week, feel free to email me if you want!
